STOCKHOLM SODRA BAR

FROM GOOGLE TRANSLATE:

One Friday night a few days before Christmas in a vinterdassigt Stockholm is perhaps not the ideal setting for a gig with a new artist like Terry Lynn. To Miss Lynn herself has not slept more than a couple hours the night before the Stockholm visit will certainly not the whole thing easier. Our scheduled interview will be redirected several times to Terry must try to get a couple of hours sleep before the concert at the Southern Bar.

When the interview since becoming the well in a basement room with Guitar Hero decorated walls in classic Hotel ore, it is a courteous, extremely friendly, but very, very tired artist. A slight nervous feeling come over me when I post our conversation going myself up along Götgatan against Mosebacke heights.

On the way into Södran I am also quite puzzled, bordering on somewhat upset when I see the audience who are entering. Gender consists namely, for the most part of julbordsfryntliga kid gangs which tricks with entrance fee. The earlier feeling nervous now turn into a rather "how will this go?"

Which fueled further when Terry Lynn, after a very mild effect fully biblical slide intro, kicks off and the sound turns out to be an unmitigated disaster. A noticeably irritated Lynn continues in a half track before she gets off the stage and ask the sound technician "to fix it." The audience seems to be on the verge of completely unengaged and more interested in hanging out in the bar and discuss the latest buy Christmas presents.

Rewind.

Terry goes on again, after various changes in technology on the scene, and now it's as if nothing has happened. She shows off a completely different attitude. More focused, more relaxed and a hell of emotion that rub off on the audience that although it seems more caught on this occasion.

Terry Lynn delivers its modern techno dancehall in an impressive manner. It is a modern pumping beat that washes over us, and there is a sudden we do not find ourselves in Södermalm in Stockholm, but somewhere in the hinterland of the Waterhouse, Jamaica.

There is an obvious and conviction of Terry Lynn's appearance that is difficult to defend oneself against it and rub off on the audience. It was a long time since I witnessed such a reversal of a concert after such a disastrous start. But Lynn managed, and turns it into a knock-out victory.

We get a lot of material from "Kingstologic 2.0" but also a lot of new material is still at demo stage, but gives a hint that Lynn will be very interesting to follow in the future.

As an encore we get also a set of the John-Hugo (Radioclit / The Very Best) songs produced by their joint cooperation in "Red Stripe Presents: It Was Written". Sweden, where the newly released "Jamaican Girls" stands out in a very charming way with his Dr. Alban-sampling.

The whole Terry Lynn prominent accompaniment of a very power full sets by Peter Dean Rickards images as a back-drop. The visual impression reinforces both Lynn's lyrics and the hard beat.

There will also be interesting to follow Despotz Records in the future. The company's collaboration with Lynn gives hope room for even more acts from the Caribbean part of the music industry.
